CPG is excited to participate in Zinemercado on Sunday September 4, 2022 11am-5pm at Comfort Station in Logan Square. If you’re unfamiliar, Zinemercado is an annual outdoor festival devoted to zines and other DIY publications. CPG Board Members Jack Spector-Bishop and Eric Von Haynes will be tabling at the event. We are accepting submissions from CPG members of print-based work priced under $100 to be sold at this event. Any work not sold at the event will be sold on CPG’s online store. For all sales, CPG will keep 2.6% of proceeds (plus a one-time $5 fee per artist) to cover processing fees. All remaining proceeds will be sent directly to the artist.
If you would like to submit your work to be presented for sale at the event please review the artist agreement attached to this email. Questions can be directed to chicagoprintersguild@gmail.com.
Work can be dropped off at the CPG table at Zinemercado on the day of the event (September 4th, starting at 10 am). We will be outside of the Comfort Station in Logan Square, located at 2579 N Milwaukee Ave. Please review the submission guidelines below. Submissions must be accompanied with a COMPLETED ARTIST AGREEMENT. If possible, please email the artist agreement to chicagoprintersguild@gmail.com before the event so items can be added to inventory in advance. Either make a copy of the google doc linked above to fill out digitally, or print the attached pdf to submit it in hardcopy.
Submission Guidelines:
Number of submissions per member: 1-3 artworks (20 items maximum)
Year of Production: 2021/2022
Size: 18” x 24” or smaller, items should be packed for display including backing and sleeved.
Pricepoint: $100 or less (determined by artist)
Artist must be a CPG member in good standing (up-to-date on dues)
Artists must drop off submissions at Comfort Station Sunday, September 4, 2022 10 am.
We recognize this is a little short notice, but we wanted to create an opportunity for the public to view member work and to promote the sale of member work. As a board, we hope to offer more frequent and more accessible opportunities of this kind in the future. Also, Zinemercado organizers are still looking for volunteer event staff so if that’s you please sign up here to support.
We look forward to seeing you come through however you come!
